"I designed this Barn Home Plan around the familiar character of traditional barn style architecture, reinterpreting its distinctive form for contemporary living. My intention was to create a fully functional Barn Home Plan that wood integrate naturally into rural or mountain settings. I wanted it to appeal to those who choose to live outside the city and are looking for contemporary architecture without loosing that subtle rustic and farmhouse character. The house maintains a strong connection to its surroundings while offering a modern approach to space, comfort and everyday living."

L-shaped floor plan & functional layout
This 3 bedroom barn house plan is arranged across two levels. The L-shaped floor plan provides a clear separation between the private areas and the open-concept social zone, where the living, dining and kitchen flow together and open through expansive glazing toward the inner courtyard and surrounding landscape. The opposite ground-floor wing accommodates a spacious primary bedroom with its own bathroom and walk-in closet.
The ground floor also includes the supporting spaces needed for comfortable everyday living: a pantry, utility and laundry room, entrance hall, and staircase leading to the upper level, all positioned for convenient access from the main areas of the house. Upstairs, within the roof volume, are two additional bedrooms, a walk-in closet and a shared bathroom.

Barn House Architecture & Design Features
The architectural character of this Barn House is defined by a simple, recognizable silhouette, a high-pitched gable roof and predominantly natural wood cladding. Traditional barn proportions are given a contemporary expression through large glazed openings, clean lines and volumes that open toward the inner courtyard. The l-shaped footprint naturally creates a sheltered outdoor area, connecting the living space with the semi-covered terrace, outdoor dining and fire pit.
On the upper level, the step roof becomes part of the interior architecture, creating generous ceiling heights and allowing exposed timber beams to remain visible within the bedrooms. The architectural concept can be further developed using different construction systems, including masonry and reinforced concrete, timber, steel framing or prefabricated solutions, depending on the site and technical requirements.
The package includes fully dimensioned floor plans, architectural elevations, building sections, room area schedules and furniture layout drawings in PDF format.
